Description/Details:
A progressive, busy, mixed animal practice in Holdrege, NE is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic associate to join our team.  This well established practice (1976) consists of a main office as well as a satellite clinic located in Minden.  The new associate would join three other DVM's, and a youthful, experienced and compassionate staff. The current owners , Drs. Randy (AVC 1997) and Heather Dingwell (KSU 2003) purchased the clinic in 2007. We added the satellite clinic in Minden, NE in 2011. We are blessed with a growing and loyal clientele! Our practice is truly mixed with the majority of the work consisting of bovine (feedlot & cow-calf) and small animal.  Also, the equine and small ruminant caseload has grown in the past years.  Holdrege (population 5500) is located in south central Nebraska and is the county seat for Phelps county; only a short drive from the nearest city, Kearney (population 33,000).  We have a tremendous new hospital, award winning YMCA and performing arts center in Holdrege.
Responsibilities would include providing medical and surgical care to all species. It is often said to find a practice that lets you see a large caseload with a wide variety right out of school, and this practice offers just that! In 2018 we had just under 14,000 patient visits in our cornerstone software (11% bovine;  70% canine; 16% Feline, 1% Equine; 2% small ruminants and porcine).  The ideal candidate would be someone with a primary interest in focusing on companion animal practice, but who would also be willing to do large animal and small ruminant work as well.  After hours and weekend care would always involve all species.  We have state of the art blood chemistry and CBC machines, digital radiography, tonometry, ultrasounds (2 easi scans), power equine floats and fantastic Dentalaire machines. We routinely do orthopedic surgeries including, patellar re-grooves, ACL repair, IM pinning and bone plating, as well as offering boarding and a full time groomer on staff - this is not just community practice when cattle work is slow.  Both locations have haul-in facilities with hydraulic Daniels chutes for working cattle as well 2 portable hydraulic Daniels chutes, a portable hydraulic calf tub and chute, and a portable Tuffy Tilt Table.
Both clinics are in very family oriented towns that offer a small town feel with many amenities.  Salary and benefits are negotiable and commensurate with experience, but include simple IRA, health insurance sharing, paid dues, CE allowance, paid vacation. A fully equipped truck with bowie is provided while working and on-call. Experience is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply.  Interested parties should send a resume to the Holdrege Veterinary Clinic, P.C., 2201 4th Ave., Holdrege, NE 68949 or e-mail to:  holdregevet@atcjet.net

Description/Details:
Part time and on call veterinarian needed to start right away. For the fast growing  services in End of Life Care in the field of Animal Palliative Care, Pet Hospice and In Home Euthanasia. Paws To Angels is honored to be pioneering and leading these wonderful services to the families and our community.   We pride ourselves on helping these amazing pet parents through the phone call, through the loss of their pet, and through the healing process.
Palliative Care and Pet Hospice is a family-centered, medically supervised, and team-oriented service dedicated to maintaining comfort and quality of life for the terminally ill or geriatric pet until natural death occurs or the family elects euthanasia. Modeled originally from human hospice, this specific type of veterinary care is focused on the comfort of the pet, not at finding a cure for his or her disease. It is important to note that veterinary hospice does not include any diagnostic or blood-work services. Our goal is to focus on comfort and maintaining the human animal bond.
In Home Euthanasia what we believe is one the "Final Acts of Love"  done quietly in tranquil serene and the private area of the family's home where we handle things during this incredibly difficult time at the families pace and in the way they want and in a way that is going to be good for them and their whole family.  Two step process of calming sedation and then the final dose.

Job requirements:
Must be compassionate, sympathetic , empathetic and non judgmental.
We are almost always on the ground with a large dog or kneeling in front of the small dog or cat sitting on the owner’s lap. Additionally, assisting clients with the aftercare of their pet is essential in this type of our service. This requires lifting pets into a pet casket and carrying the casket to our car.
While it greatly depends on where the appointments are scheduled, plan on many last minute or emergency calls.  The nature of house call services will require extensive driving.
Must provide medicine and supplies.
Well compensated.
