Prepare for your future in veterinary medicine

Since 2007, Nebraska's Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine (PPVM) has proudly provided top quality education to residents of Nebraska who wish to earn a doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from a program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education.

Made possible through a cooperative agreement, PPVM students complete the first two years of veterinary medicine education at the University of Nebraska and transfer to the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine for the final two years of study, all the while paying in-state tuition.

While at Nebraska, PPVM students have an enriched learning experience thanks to small class sizes that allow supportive learning communities to form and make it possible to work closely with faculty.  Students also have the opportunity to interact with animals and participate in other hands-on learning activities both inside and outside of the classroom, starting with their first semester in the PPVM.
