Since 2007, Nebraska's Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine (PPVM) has proudly provided top quality education to residents of Nebraska who wish to earn a doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree from a program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education.
Made possible through a cooperative agreement, PPVM students complete the first two years of veterinary medicine education at the University of Nebraska and the last two years at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. The PPVM students pay ISU resident veterinary medicine tuition for all four years of enrollment. The first two years of tuition paid to UNL and the last two years to ISU.
Only verified Nebraska residents are eligible for admission to the PPVM.
While at Nebraska, PPVM students enjoy an enriched learning experience thanks to small class sizes and a low student-to-faculty ratio. Starting with their first semester, PPVM students have many opportunities to interact with animals and participate in other hands-on learning activities both inside and outside of the classroom.
