Welcome to the web site for the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine. The University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) is excited about partnering with the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine (ISU-CVM) to offer this unique program. This cooperative program will provide Nebraska students increased opportunities for learning as they draw upon the expertise of faculty at both universities. We have designed this site to provide a real-time communication. Much care has been taken and detail provided to deliver the most up-to-date information about how to apply to our program and the admissions process. The site contains links to the online application and the forms required. In addition, there is information on who to contact if you need help in the application process. We welcome your questions as they arise. We plan to update this site regularly, and urge you to visit often. |

Our inaugural class began their studies in Fall 2007. Every Fall semester we will admit another 25 students who will experience state-of-the-art facilities in the Animal Science building and the benefits of a small class size. For this program two major land-grant universities have come together in a true partnership to produce one cooperative program in veterinary medical education. It is exhilarating to be a part of this innovative new program. We believe this program is beneficial both to the education of our students but also to veterinary medicine as a whole. As we look at the possibilities, rewards and challenges of the program, we know the first two far outweigh the last. We have a great team working together to provide our students with an outstanding educational experience. We are grateful for the support we have from the ISU and UNL faculty and administrators whose vision and hard work are moving this program forward. We thank James B. Milliken, president of the University of Nebraska system, who is supporting this innovation through a $250,000 grant to help us develop and enhance these innovative methods. We also thank the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association for their support of the program. We value their counsel and the opportunities our students will have to interact and learn from them. Thank you for visiting our site. Please come back often to see what's new. If we can provide you any additional information, we will be happy to do so.
